Introduction

Keep or Go is a personal inventory app for iPhone that helps you track your physical possessions. This Privacy Policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and your choices regarding your information.

Data Collection and Storage

Keep or Go (Free Version)

The free version of Keep or Go is designed with privacy as a core principle:

  • Photos: All photos you take or select are stored privately on your iPhone in application support storage. They never leave your device.
  • Inventory Data: Item names, quantities, locations, notes, and status information (Keep, Unsure, Sell, Donate) are stored locally on your iPhone using SwiftData.
  • No Network Transmission: The free version does not transmit any data off your device. There are no analytics, no crash reporting, and no cloud sync.
  • No Third-Party Services: The free version does not use any third-party SDKs or services that collect data.

Summary for Keep or Go: No data is collected or transmitted. Everything stays on your iPhone.

Keep or Go Pro (Pro Subscription)

When you subscribe to Keep or Go Pro, some data is processed and stored in the cloud to provide AI-powered features:

  • Photos for AI Processing: When you use AI photo capture or video room scanning, selected photos and video frames are sent to our servers for analysis. We extract item names, quantities, labels, and recognized text, then return suggestions to your device. Original photos and videos are not permanently stored on our servers.
  • Cloud Backup and Sync: Your inventory data (item names, quantities, locations, notes, status, and photo references) is encrypted and backed up to our cloud infrastructure to enable sync across your devices.
  • Inventory Assistant: When you use the personal inventory assistant, your questions and relevant inventory data are sent to our servers to provide contextual responses. Conversation history is stored to maintain context within your session.
  • Account Information: We use AWS Cognito for authentication. We collect your Apple ID (when using Sign in with Apple) or email address to manage your subscription and cloud features.
  • Purchase Information: We use RevenueCat to process subscriptions. RevenueCat collects purchase history for analytics and app functionality. This data is not linked to your identity in our systems.

Summary for Keep or Go Pro: Photos for AI analysis, inventory data for cloud backup, conversation data for the assistant, and purchase information for subscription management.

How We Use Your Data

We use your data solely to provide and improve Keep or Go:

  • To provide AI photo understanding and video scanning features (Keep or Go Pro only)
  • To back up and sync your inventory across your devices (Keep or Go Pro only)
  • To power the personal inventory assistant (Keep or Go Pro only)
  • To manage your subscription and provide customer support (Keep or Go Pro only)
  • To improve our AI models and app features based on aggregated, anonymized usage patterns (Keep or Go Pro only, opt-in)

We do not sell your data. We do not share your data with third parties for advertising or marketing purposes.

Data Retention

  • Local Data: Data stored on your iPhone remains there until you delete it or uninstall the app.
  • Cloud Data (Keep or Go Pro): Your cloud backup and sync data is retained as long as you have an active subscription. If you cancel your subscription, your cloud data is retained for 30 days to allow resubscription, then permanently deleted.
  • AI Processing: Photos and video frames sent for AI analysis are processed in memory and not permanently stored. Extracted metadata (item names, labels, etc.) is returned to your device and not retained on our servers.
  • Assistant Conversations: Conversation history is stored for the duration of your session and retained for 30 days to allow you to review past conversations. You can delete conversation history at any time from within the app.

Data Security

We take data security seriously:

  • All data transmitted to our servers is encrypted in transit using TLS 1.3 or higher.
  • Cloud backup and sync data is encrypted at rest using AES-256 encryption.
  • We use AWS infrastructure with industry-standard security practices.
  • Access to cloud data is restricted to authenticated users and authorized personnel only.

Your Rights and Choices

You have the following rights regarding your data:

  • Access: You can access all your inventory data within the Keep or Go app at any time.
  • Deletion: You can delete individual items or your entire inventory from within the app. For Keep or Go Pro, you can also request deletion of your cloud data by contacting us at privacy@keeporgo.app.
  • Portability: You can export your inventory data (coming soon).
  • Opt-Out: You can opt out of data collection for AI model improvement from within the app settings (Keep or Go Pro only).
  • Downgrade: You can cancel your Keep or Go Pro subscription at any time. Your data will revert to local-only storage, and cloud data will be retained for 30 days before deletion.

Children's Privacy

Keep or Go is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe we have collected information from a child under 13, please contact us at privacy@keeporgo.app.
